Erin Sheets

Erin Sheets joined On The Rail Farms in June 2016, and is owner/operator of the OTRF lesson program.  Erin started riding when just 5 years old. Now, 20+ years later, she is passionate about sharing her love for horses with her students. She has spent the past 17 years studying Eventing with her local trainer as well as attending numerous clinics. Erin is focused on expanding her Eventing education and rides in clinics regularly with Olympic Gold Medalist and Young Rider Coach Leslie Law, as well as 4* rider Sharon White. She has also ridden with Dorothy Crowell, Ian Stark, Stephen Bradley and Lucinda Green. Erin has developed her last 2 competition horses from off the track race horses to successfully compete in sanctioned shows at the Preliminary level. Erin graduated from Franklin College in May 2016 with a Bachelors in Psychology. We know riders will benefit from Erin’s unique perspectives and experiences.

Anna Lynn Houk

Anna Lynn is a seasoned horsewoman with over 45 years of experience in the world of horses. She has done it all. She began riding at age three in front of her big sisters, grasping to the horse's mane and begging to go faster. She has competed in the Hunter/Jumper discipline, ridden on the Purdue Equestrian team, managed a Thoroughbred racing and breeding operation, delivered foals, taught riding lessons, trained horses from the ground up and helped families find and purchase their next best equine friends! Anna Lynn loves watching the passion for horses and riding ignite behind the eyes of her students. She is patient and kind and helps students learn the "why" behind the skills she teaches. She is the mother of two teenaged kiddos and wife to an auto racing enthusiast. The Houks have two Labrador Retrievers named Tito and Tavi and a Thoroughbred gelding named Double (a remnant of the racing operation from days gone by).
Ashley Richwine
Picture
Ashley Richwine grew up with a passion for horses, and 18 years later she still continues to grow her knowledge and love for riding, training, and teaching others. Ashley started her horse journey in 4-H, where she leased a stubborn pony that she fell off constantly. After many challenges and a lot of hard work she got her first horse, Wrangler, when she was 13. Wrangler was an off the track Quarter Horse that was challenging and untrained. After countless hours of training Ashley and Wrangler competed in Rodeo competitions for over nine years, showing in barrel racing and pole bending. She also purchased and trained green horses to be safe at a competition level during that time. After Wrangler passed away Ashley’s passion for riding dwindled until she started teaching lessons to her kids. Ashley credits her lesson kids with reigniting her passion for riding and training. She has now been teaching lessons for over three years and is excited to share her passion for western riding, rodeoing, and strong horse fundamentals to all of her lesson kids!

Emily VanTassel

Emily is the eldest daughter of Michelle Thompson and the reason Michelle now has a horse farm! Her passion for horses was evident before she could walk and hasn't let up since.  Now 19 and attending college full time, her mom credits horses and riding for shaping the wonderful young woman she has become.  As a Beginner Student instructor and Lead Camp Counselor, Emily shares her experiences with those coming up behind her while also competing with her riding peers.
